Synopsis

Every year around Thanksgiving, an avalanche of Holiday car commercials hits the world. A lot of them following the same old “car-goes-left-car-goes-right, license-a-Christmas-carol” formula. We decided to try something different. We teamed up with YouTube “VideoSong” pioneers, Pomplamoose, to create totally unique versions of three classic carols. And we produced them the way the duo produces their videos — on their turf, impromptu, in the moment. Not only were the spots totally fresh, but collaborating with Jack and Nataly (and putting them on the national stage) granted Hyundai entree into digital and social circles that big brands normally aren’t “authentically” accepted in. The online traffic and traction the brand gained was awesome, especially with the “idle-millennial” crowd.
